Morale Monday Edition #2 ๐Ÿ˜Š

Here we are a week after releasing the first edition of Morale Monday. We haven't grown yet, but I am sure to keep it going. If you have found this newsletter, I appreciate you being here, and I hope you get some value! So, let's get started!

This Past Week:

โ€ƒAfter going through the past week, I have found a couple things that have either provoked some thought or I have applied to my own daily routine. The first thing I experienced was picking up a new book titled It Takes What It Takes by Trevor Moawad. The quote that I found intriguing comes from page 25:

"The most dangerous bias when discussing performance is our innate privileging of the past. We elevate the past. We give it too much importance. We serve the past when we should be giving it a wide berth."

How can you use this? Reflect on your day to day life. What part of your story from your past do you think defines you in this moment? Even though something in your past may have happened that you think defines you, I can assure you it does not. You can always choose a different path. Don't give your past too much credit; you can break free from whatever hold it has on you.

One practical thing that I have also pursued is watching less tv at night to use that time in a more productive manner. Sorry Parks & Rec ๐Ÿ˜‚, you must take a backseat to other activities more in line with my goal.

Present Moment:

โ€ƒWherever you are and whatever your environment may be, I want you to close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths. Once you have done this, I want you to think about one VERY simple thing in your life that you are grateful for. For me, the thing that popped into my head was the ability to walk. I had the privilege of taking my dog for a walk this morning and enjoying being outside. If you completed this and something popped into your head and your feeling changed, congratulations you have joined the present moment!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Future:

โ€ƒWhat am I looking forward to? Well, this week we flip the page of the calendar from February to March, which has a couple of things that I am rather excited about. The first thing is that spring break is around the corner. Although I am not traveling anywhere warm and sunny on vacation, I plan to visit one of my brothers in Omaha for a couple days to get out of town! Secondly, it is almost March Madness time! One of the best times of the year watching the, in my opinion, most exciting event in sports. Also, one of the first round spots is in Des Moines, so I am hoping to score some tickets and check it out live!

What is something that you are looking forward to? Imagine yourself in that time and how you will feel. Bring your emotions to that time, and I guarantee you will feel better in the now.

I hope this has brought some refreshing thoughts and feelings to your Monday and given you a little morale boost for the day/week! If you have came to this post, I appreciate you! It would mean the world to me if you subscribed to my page. If you do, I will bring you the best I have to your inbox every Monday!

All the best,

Nick
