Happy Monday Everybody!!!

I hope you had an amazing weekend with both St. Patty's Day and March Madness, and are off to a stellar week! If not, well... you are in the right place!

Past Week

I had a little more laid back schedule this past week due to it being spring break and clients traveling. So, what did I do with that week? As much family time as possible. It was great to relax a bit even though I didn't get to go anywhere warm and sunny. The weather is supposed to turn this week a bit, so that will be great!

I switched from one Joe Dispenza book to another on Audible this past week to continue to give myself the message to try and build/create my future. I am now listening to You Are the Placebo, which is the book he wrote after Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. As of right now, it is quite similar to the book prior except he references different studies and anecdotal evidence of what he preaches. Either way, I am sticking to his books to see if I can gain anything out of them to share with you.

March Madness was lit 🔥 with tons of upsets for the first couple rounds. Obviously, the biggest was 16 Seed Fairleigh Dickinson beating 1 Seed Purdue in the first round. Word of advice if you are a basketball coach and have a dude that is 7'4" on your team... get him more than 1 shot in the last 12 minutes of the game haha. Don't worry my bracket is busted in more ways than just that 1, and it is easy for me to say anything as someone who leisurely watches sports. I can't wait for weekend number 2 to see what happens!

Ted Lasso Season 3 Premiered last week, and I could not have been more excited. It is a hilarious show that in my eyes has plenty of heart to go with it. If you haven't checked it out, it is on Apple TV+ and is well worth the watch!

Training

This past week, my training took a little bit of a turn. I had a tweak in my low back and some swelling in my knee. The combo of both of these things made training quite uncomfortable. HOWEVER, I did not let this stop my training. Sure, I had to modify and change the program a bit to get some training in. In no way should you just let that be an excuse to stop. So, when you (inevitably) get bumps and bruises from training, don't stop! Use it as a tool to learn something from your training and try something new to use as a modification.

Present Moment

I'm not gonna lie, this past week I have had more than one occasion where I start to think negative thoughts on a certain topic in life that lead to negative emotions. Once this happens, my mind goes in that all too familiar downward spiral of so many negative things. If this sounds familiar just know that actually isn't you talking... it is your paradigm or subconscious programming speaking up to bring you back to whatever your programmed normal is.

My challenge to you is to notice this next time, and acknowledge it but not entertain it. Sure it's there, but choose a different path then to take part in something that negative. If that was another person sitting next to you talking like that, you would slap them silly. So, choose to do the same thing. Don't listen to it and take back the power to choose your own more positive reality.

Practice right now! Whatever you are feeling or thinking, choose better feelings and thoughts. If you already in a good mood, how can you make it better? Everything is possible to you, and you become what you think about. Think the best possible outcomes, and it shall be done to you.

Now that your mind is in an even better place... win the day!

Future

What am I looking forward to this week? Nicer weather! Here in Iowa, we will finally be consistently above 40 and in the 50's as well. Spring is about here, and the fever has come.

I am also looking into reading some more training material by Charlie Francis. His work is well known in the S&C community, and I don't know as much as some about his training. So, I am going to take a dive into his material.

Thank you all for taking the time out of your day to read this! There wasn't quite as much technical material in this as the last issue, but I hope it gave you your Monday Morale Boost either way!

Have a great Monday and week!

Nick
