Why hasn't it happened yet?
Happy Monday everyone!!
I hope y'all had a great weekend and some great plans for this week to LIVE!
If you have nothing planned to truly enjoy your week, I suggest you do so. Last week, I talked about creating the life you WANT.
How can you create the life you want if you don't spend time doing things that you actually enjoy?
Yes, I understand you have to work hard and get that bread.
However, what does it say about your current system of working if you can't even manage your activities enough to do just ONE thing this week that you unapologetically enjoy?
Choose what you want to do, and block off the time.
This leads into the topic I would like to cover for the day. Why hasn't what you want happened yet? I have set my goal, I visualize myself in the goal, and do all the "right" things to make it happen. But I haven't gotten it yet. Why?
Well, the answer I am about to say could be one of many.
You don't become what you want, you become what you are. I have already used this quote before, but I aim to dive deeper.
As you feel good and choose activities you want to do, you will run into blocks in the road.
These blocks are paradigms and ideas held deeply in the subconscious.
In the book, Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz, there is a dedicated chapter to techniques and ideas about getting rid of these unproductive ideas.
Once the idea is changed and your self is more in line with the person who has achieved your goal, things will start to flow to you again, and you will jump closer to your goal.
So, sometimes if you haven't yet reached your goal, instead of looking without and receiving the all too familiar frustration and same old results, look within. What can you write out and uncover from your beautiful mind?
The answers you write out may give you a decent idea of where the blockage comes from.
One technique you can use is to write out everything once frustration or negative emotion comes into play. After writing everything you can out, go back and switch all of those negative feeling paradigm statements into positive statements. These can reveal where those old ideas are hiding and affirmations you can use to overcome those ideas with repetition.
There are also plenty of resources out there that can help with dealing with your own shit... a few books I have that I would recommend are:
1. Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz
2. The Mountain Is You by Brianna West
3. Unfu*k Yourself by Gary John Bishop
However you choose to go about conquering yourself, my goal is to help you in anyway that I can.
Reach out and ask if there is something I can do to help!
I hope you all get some self work done, do some shit you enjoy, and have a great week! Life is too short and precious not to.
All love,
Nick
